In the mail...
It took exactly 3 months from the day I put my order in (though I still need to receive it), but here it is:
"Dear Rick,
We were able to locate the certificate you requested:
Birth - ALFREDO
We are mailing it tomorrow via USPS first class mail to the address you provided... It should arrive in two to three business days.
Feel free to contact us if you have any further questions concerning your order. Thanks again for your business!
Regards,
Italian Citizenship & Genealogy Services"
Cross another requirement off of my little checklist.
More to come...

Hi, Rick:
Thanks for chronicling your experience in obtaining dual citizenship. I am beginning to consider going through the same process with a similar link through my great-grandfather.
In May 2005, I made a two week trip to Sicily specifically to visit the area where my Italian ancestors lived.
One question for you: Will the Italian Consulate in the USA only accept a certified copy of a relative's birth/marriage record from Italy? If that's the case, then I wish I had known that while I was visiting the Archivio di Stato di Enna!
I believe the Italian Consulate will accept only certified copies of birth/marriage records. When I made my inital call to the Consulate to ask about what was needed, they told me they needed certified copies and there were various resources to obtain the copies.
The service I used to get the records, ICGS, worked well. However if you are planning another trip to Sicilia, it may be fun to do the research yourself and see the original. The copies aren't actualy photocopies (the one from Gissi wasn't). Hope this helps!
Rick
